Case Study No: 07

Patient Details: Jankidevi/Female/45 Yrs

PHC Name: Dungra, Vapi, Valsad, Gujarat

Presenting Complaint: coughing and breathing difficulties

Consultation/Follow-up Date: January 31, 2025

Jankidevi, a 45-year-old homemaker from Chhiri village, has been a regular visitor to the Phygital PHC telemedicine unit at Chhiri PHC ever since she first consulted Dr Akram in 2022 for fever, cough, and body pain. That experience built her trust in the service, and now, whenever she or a family member falls ill, she walks into Chhiri PHC without any fear or hesitation.

So, when she developed watery and irritated eyes in January 2025, she knew exactly what to do. Without wasting time, she called the telemedicine unit’s GNM, Jashodaben, and asked for Dr Akram. GNM Jashoda suggested an appointment with ophthalmologist Dr Rohit Srinath, but Jankidevi was insistent on consulting Dr Akram, whom she trusted deeply. Understanding her preference, Jashoda assured her that she could visit the centre anytime between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM for a video consultation with Dr Akram.

Her consultation through the Phygital Centre provided a proper diagnosis, prescription eye drops, and essential eye care advice. Within days, she felt significant relief—her irritation reduced, and she was able to go about her daily household tasks with ease.

Jankidevi’s story highlights the trust and confidence rural patients develop when healthcare is accessible and reliable. She continues to rely on the Chhiri PHC’s telemedicine unit, knowing that expert medical help is just a visit away.
