Introduction
A community health camp under the Sakushal Sarathi initiative was organized on 12 May 2026 at Pandavapura, Mandya District, Karnataka by the Apollo Tyres Foundation in collaboration with Telerad Foundation through the Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre (ATHCC), Bengaluru.
The programme was conducted alongside a public event held in the region and aimed at extending preventive healthcare services and health awareness activities to the local rural community, transport workers, drivers, dealers, customers, and visitors present at the venue.
The health camp focused on improving access to basic preventive healthcare services in a rural setting, with special emphasis on early screening, awareness generation, counselling, and referral support for common communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The programme included general health consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar screening, vision screening, diabetic retinopathy screening, pulmonary function assessment, HIV awareness and testing, medicine distribution, and health education activities.
Senior representatives from Apollo Tyres and Apollo Tyres Foundation were present during the event and interacted with the healthcare teams and beneficiaries.
Objectives of the Health Camp
The major objectives of organizing the health camp were:
- To provide accessible preventive healthcare services to the rural and transport community
- To create awareness on major health concerns such as Vision Health ,Diabetes, Hypertension, Oral and general health, HIV/AIDS, and Tuberculosis,
- To encourage early detection and timely referral for health conditions
- To promote healthy lifestyle practices among beneficiaries
- To strengthen Apollo Tyres Foundation’s commitment towards healthcare accessibility and community well-being
Health Camp Setup and Activities
The health camp was systematically organized with dedicated healthcare service counters and awareness activities. The ATHCC – Bengaluru , healthcare team ensured smooth beneficiary flow, registration, screening, counselling, and consultation throughout the program.
An information and awareness kiosk was established to educate beneficiaries on preventive healthcare practices. Interactive health games and awareness materials were used to improve beneficiary participation and engagement.
The camp team conducted awareness sessions focusing on:
- Importance of regular health check-ups and healthy lifestyle practices
- Vision care and prevention of blindness
- Hypertension and cardiovascular risks
- Diabetes management and complications
- HIV/AIDS prevention and testing
- Tuberculosis awareness and early detection

Near-vision spectacles were provided at affordable cost to beneficiaries diagnosed with near-vision difficulties. Beneficiaries requiring distance vision correction were provided prescriptions and guidance for further follow-up.
Visit by Leadership Team
During the programme, senior representatives from Apollo Tyres visited the healthcare service area and interacted with the healthcare team. The leadership team observed the various screening and consultation activities being conducted and appreciated the efforts of the healthcare professionals and support staff in delivering organized and accessible healthcare services to the community.
The representatives also acknowledged the importance of preventive healthcare initiatives and community outreach programmes in improving health awareness and access to basic screening services in rural areas.
Beneficiary Participation
The inauguration event witnessed active participation from the rural community, dealers, customers, and transport sector beneficiaries. Approximately more than 200 people attended the inaugural function and associated activities.
A total of 144 beneficiaries availed healthcare services during the health camp.
