Event Location | Date: SGS Transport, near Hitech Tea Stall, D Block, Devaraj Urs Truck Terminal Limited (DDUTTL), Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, Karnataka | 20 January 2026
Background
Truck drivers and allied transport workers often face prolonged working hours, irregular dietary patterns, occupational stress, and limited access to routine healthcare services. These challenges increase their vulnerability to communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and preventable vision and lifestyle-related conditions.
To strengthen preventive healthcare access within the transport community, the Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre, a CSR initiative of Apollo Tyres Foundation, organised an Integrated Health Camp on 20 January 2026 at SGS Transport, DDUTTL, Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru.
The programme was implemented in association with Telerad Foundation, with local coordination support from the transport management and lorry association leadership. The camp aimed to promote early detection, health awareness, and improved health-seeking behaviour among truck drivers and allied workers operating within one of Bengaluru’s busiest transport hubs.
Pre-Camp Preparation
The Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre team at DDUTTL initiated advance coordination with SGS Transport management and the local Lorry Association President. Mr Rajakumar K M, Program Manager, Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre, led on-ground coordination to ensure operational readiness and beneficiary mobilisation.
With the support of the Rotary Club of Bengaluru, spectacles were mobilised in advance for distribution to beneficiaries identified with refractive errors during the vision screening. Strong stakeholder collaboration ensured smooth execution and effective participation.
