Apollo Tyres Health Care Centre (ATHCC), Yeshwantpur: 13 July 2026
A Peer-Led Volunteers Meeting was successfully conducted at the Apollo Tyres Health Care Centre (ATHCC), Yeshwantpur. The meeting was made special by a surprise visit from Mr Ashwani Sinha, Ms Suma, Dr Jyotika Gupta, Ms Uma, and Mr Kiran, who interacted with the peer volunteers and programme team.
The visitors were introduced to the peer volunteers, following which each volunteer briefly introduced themselves. The interaction provided an excellent opportunity for the leadership team to appreciate the volunteers’ continued contribution towards promoting healthcare among the trucking community.
During the session, Dr Jyotika Gupta delivered an engaging talk on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of regular screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Her interaction encouraged the volunteers to continue serving as health ambassadors within their communities.
As a token of appreciation for their dedication and continued support to the programme, gifts were presented to all peer volunteers. The visiting team also toured the health centre and shared valuable suggestions to further strengthen service delivery and beneficiary experience. The interaction proved to be highly motivating for both the volunteers and the programme team.
Several new initiatives have also been introduced to further strengthen the Peer-Led Beneficiary Outreach Programme by enhancing communication and engagement between the programme team and peer volunteers. These include the creation of dedicated WhatsApp groups for real-time communication, the use of WhatsApp Polls for quick feedback and participation, regular dissemination of programme updates, health awareness messages, event notifications, and improved coordination of outreach activities. These digital initiatives are helping build a more connected, responsive, and engaged network of peer volunteers.
About the Apollo Tyres Health Care Centre
The Apollo Tyres Health Care Centre (ATHCC) is a primary healthcare initiative of Apollo Tyres Foundation, implemented by Telerad Foundation at Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru. The centre provides free primary healthcare services to long-distance truck drivers, co-drivers, helpers, and the allied transport community.
Services include doctor consultations, essential medicines, counselling, screening for HIV, tuberculosis (TB), diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs), vision care services, and preventive health education. Through static clinic services, outreach activities, health camps, and a strong peer-led volunteer network, the programme promotes early diagnosis, timely treatment, and healthier lifestyles among one of India’s most mobile and underserved occupational communities.
